Angels Mahjong & Devils Shanghai Support

Two games in one app

Choose Angels Mahjong or Devils Shanghai when you launch the app. Switch between Mahjong story, evolution and free matches, and Shanghai tile puzzles. Each game saves its own progress.

Remove matching pairs whose tops and at least one side are free. Seven evolving guides accompany 35 groups of stages, with conversations before and after each group. Use hints, undo and restart, or Shanghai-specific reveal, shuffle and pair-removal items.

Angels’ evolution matches: 35 stages

Seven characters appear in five forms, from their original form to their ultimate evolution. In this mode, separate from the story, finish first overall in an East-only match and read the epilogue to advance. Enjoy changing artwork and dialogue.

Shanghai items and saves

Shanghai starts with three reveal items, three shuffles and two pair removals. Earn one item on each regular stage’s first clear. These are separate from Mahjong tickets and cannot be obtained by purchases or watching ads.

Shanghai boards, clears, best times, items, study-puzzle progress, dialogue and settings are saved on your device. Saves from the old standalone Komorebi Shanghai app are not automatically migrated.

The Angels’ story and free matches

Spend twelve chapters at the garden table with Pico, Mimi, Lulu and Nana. Everyday conversations gradually reveal their concerns; not every mystery is resolved within these twelve chapters.

Final match placement changes the ending dialogue. Character and event notes let you revisit what you learned in completed dialogue, and you can reread dialogue you have finished.

In free matches, select three CPU opponents, an East-only or East–South match and a difficulty level. A tutorial and winning-hand reference are also available.

How do I unlock the next chapter?

Finish each chapter’s East-only match in first place overall, then finish reading its epilogue to unlock the next chapter. The requirement is your final placement for the whole match, not winning a single hand.

You can read the ending dialogue in second place or lower, but must retry to advance. Chapter 12 is the current final chapter.

What do I earn for clearing a chapter?

Each time you finish a story or evolution East-only match in first place overall and finish reading the epilogue, you receive one randomly chosen ticket: an Opening Hand Assist Ticket or a Riichi Ippatsu Assist Ticket. Clearing the same chapter again also earns a reward. Second place or lower earns no ticket.

Tickets can be used only in free matches, not story or evolution matches. They cannot be purchased. On Android, meeting the reward condition of an optional ad on the Mahjong home screen grants one starting-hand assistance ticket. Closing the ad alone does not grant a reward.

Opening Hand Assist Ticket

In the first hand, the ticket swaps one tile in your starting hand to bring it closer to a winning shape. If no improvement is possible, nothing changes. It does not guarantee a high-value hand or a win.

Riichi Ippatsu Assist Ticket

The ticket assists your next draw once after your first successfully established riichi. It has no effect if no winning tile remains in the wall. A call, kan or another player’s win also ends the effect. Select “Tsumo” to claim a self-drawn win.

Ticket consumption, unsuccessful effects and statistics

Each selected ticket is consumed once when the free match starts. It is not returned if its effect fails or you abandon the match. Tickets with zero inventory cannot be selected. Resuming the saved match does not consume those tickets again.

Matches played with items are excluded from regular statistics.

What happens when I update from an older version?

Previously unlocked chapters remain unlocked. Tickets are not automatically granted for past clears. Replay an unlocked chapter, finish first overall and finish reading its epilogue to earn a ticket.

Saving and resuming

Your current match and settings, story progress, dialogue read status, cleared stages, reward-ticket inventory, and reward and item-use status are stored on your device. You can resume a saved match when you return.

There is no proprietary cloud sync. Reinstalling or clearing app storage may erase your records. If a save warning appears, note the message and preceding steps and contact us before deleting the app.

Match animations, skipping and sound settings

At the start of each hand, tiles are dealt in groups of four in turn. Use Skip during dealing to skip that animation. Character close-ups accompany riichi, ron and tsumo, while animated scores show the points won and changes to all four players’ balances.

Use the reduced-effects setting to reduce animations. Check music, sound effects and orientation in the game settings. If sound is missing, also check device volume, silent mode and connected headphones or Bluetooth devices.

Release status, connectivity and purchases

Verified October 25, 2026: Android version 1.1.0 is available on Google Play. The iOS version is not publicly available yet. Mahjong and Shanghai are included in the same app.

A single-player app combining four-player riichi mahjong against CPUs and Shanghai tile puzzles. Play offline without accounts or in-app purchases. Android includes stage-end ads and optional Mahjong rewarded ads; gameplay remains available when ads are unavailable. The iOS version does not include ads. No online multiplayer or wagering of money or prizes.
