Sober Island

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 27, 2026

Sober Island ("the App") respects your privacy and is built on the principle of collecting as little information as possible.

1. Information we collect

The App stores the following information entirely on your device. None of it is sent to a server.

  • Sobriety start time and elapsed duration
  • Drink log entries (timestamp, amount)
  • Assumed daily intake and assumed price (used to calculate money saved)
  • Whether you have agreed to the medical and withdrawal-risk disclaimers

2. Sharing with third parties

We do not share the above information with any third party. The App does not collect identifying information (name, email, etc.).

3. About advertising

The App may display banner ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect advertising IDs and similar information for ad delivery. Alcohol-related ad categories are excluded via a blocklist. There is no paid ad-removal option.

4. Crash reports

The App does not send drink records or urge-log content to analytics or crash-reporting services.

5. Notifications

Milestone notifications (24 hours, one week, etc.) are scheduled locally on your device. They do not pass through any server.

6. Deleting your data

Uninstalling the App removes all on-device data.

7. Children and minors

Because the App handles alcohol-related information, it is not intended for users under the legal drinking age (20 in Japan, varying elsewhere). Pregnant or breastfeeding users are directed in-app to official resources recommending zero alcohol.

8. Policy changes

This policy may be updated without notice. Material changes will be announced inside the App.
